<description>Worked with artist R. Luke DuBois to create a 72 hour continuous film shoot on a traffic island in New York City. WIKA reinvented the dynamics of a conventional shoot to allow for continuous crew changes, around the clock support, immense data storage, numerous cameras, and other unusual production requirements.

In post-production, DuBois used his own proprietary compression process to speed the footage up sixty times, creating a final film which is 72 minutes in length. This clip is the first 9 minutes of the film.

<description>Party Dress is a roving performance that is part living architecture; part monumental fashion. The project is a collaboration with the Architect Karla Karwas.

Visit the official Party Dress website here:
http://www.cargocollective.com/PartyDress

Party Dress functions as a pavilion worn exclusively by five women that seamlessly injects architecture into fashion by using the body as space. The dress begins as a shared, bustled garment that gradually unfolds to create a temporary, inhabitable structure. Each seam, each dress, and each body is interconnected by a single, amorphous surface of flowing material. With room for spectators beneath the fabric, Party Dress flirts with traditional concepts of public and private space while adding sparkling wit to the conversation between fashion and architecture. Party Dress works across multiple scales and environments, unraveling conventional notions of space, materiality and temporality.

<description>We created The Prairie Map after a trip through the Great Plains region of the central United States. The collaborative online map is a way for those interested in the preservation and restoration of the great North American Prairie to share their efforts, big and small.

If you, or your organization, are preserving, restoring, or reconstructing prairie, then let others know by adding your project to the map. As more and more projects are added, the map will come to represent a big-picture view of the returning prairie, and the community of those working bring it back.&#60;img src="http://payload48.cargocollective.com/1/0/20176/3278444/Screen Shot 2012-04-25 at 2.18.40 PM_635.png" width="635" height="461" width_o="948" height_o="689" src_o="http://payload48.cargocollective.com/1/0/20176/3278444/Screen Shot 2012-04-25 at 2.18.40 PM_o.png" data-mid="16808564" border="0" align="left"/&#62;</description>

<description>Consulted and Produced the Marigny Parade for the artist R. Luke Dubois. The Marigny Parade is a commissioned live performance project for the Prospect.2 Art Biennale in New Orleans.

The Marigny Parade is a a public performance that featured nearly 350 musicians from three renowned local high school and middle school marching bands - including The Roots of Music "Marching Crusaders", Eleanor McMain Secondary School "Marching Mustangs" Band, and the O. Perry Walker High School "The Orange Crush" Marching Band.

The 350 musicians performed as five separate groups, playing a new composition written by DuBois. The five groups marched from five different locations in the city, converging on Washington Square for the finale of the piece. The performance was followed by the Prospect.2 ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially opened the biennial on October 22nd, 2011.

The musical piece by DuBois is based on a musical 'overture' made up of disparate elements of New Orleans marching band repertoire. Each band performed a different score, and was synchronized in a way so that when they came together (or when recordings of their performances are superimposed), they achieved a rhythmic synchronicity. The music itself is based on 'loops', or fragments of melody. DuBois' composition is a conceptual and stylistic hybrid of Dixieland Jazz, Top 40 Pop, Indonesian Gamelan, and Avant-garde composition - in particular so-called "process music," where the musical work unfolds according to a series of rules that play out over the course of the piece.

The bands marched towards Washington Square along a pre-determined, multi-pronged parade route.

The participating bands:

The Roots of Music "Marching Crusaders" Band, directed by Lawrence Rawlins.
Eleanor McMain Secondary School "Marching Mustangs" Band, directed by Todrick Carmouche.
O. Perry Walker High School "The Orange Crush" Marching Band, directed by Wilbert Rawlins, Jr.

In addition to the October 22 live performance, a DVD recording of the project will be released by Bang on a Can / Cantaloupe Music. All proceeds of the DVD sales benefit The Roots of Music, a local non-profit organization that provides after-school musical training for middle school students citywide in New Orleans. Documentation of The Marigny Parade project will subsequently be on view at the French Market (1008 North Peters St, Dutch Alley Pavillion), until January 29, 2012 for the run of the biennale, in the form of a generative video installation. Organizational support for both video projects has been provided by the New Orleans Video Access Center.
